Donations accepted until December 31
Guignolée des médias takes place today in Vaudreuil-Soulanges
The Moisson Sud-Ouest food bank announces the 21st edition of the Guignolée des médias du Suroît, which will end on December 31. The street collection is taking place this Thursday, December 5, in the four corners of the Suroît region.
The organizing committee is hard at work. Online donations are strongly encouraged to ensure constant food distribution throughout the year. Also, the 14 street collection sites in 8 towns in the region are ready to welcome generous donors this Thursday, December 5. Show your generosity if you come across one of the volunteers at the collection points.
The number of people in need of food aid continues to grow, so Moisson Sud-Ouest is calling on the whole community to get involved. Every day, more and more children, workers and families face hunger.
“In addition to the street collection event, the guignolée des médias is also a major collective initiative for online monetary donations. The funds raised at this time are absolutely crucial to the operation of the food bank throughout the year,” says Yan Ouellette, Director of Communications & Philanthropy at Moisson Sud-Ouest.
Moisson Sud-Ouest meets the needs of food-insecure people in the Beauharnois-Salaberry, Haut-Saint-Laurent and Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRCs.Its mission is to collect foodstuffs from a number of suppliers and distribute them on a daily basis to over 85 organizations.
