A Vaudreuil-Dorion hiker goes missing in New York State
The New York State Police have issued an APB in an attempt to locate 22-year-old Vaudreuil-Dorion resident Léo Dufour.
According to information shared by the American police force, Léo Dufour's disappearance was reported to authorities on November 30 at around 11pm.
“An active multi-agency search operation is underway near Upper Works Road in the town of Newcomb. Leo Dufour, age 22, of Vaudreuil, QC, was traveling in an unknown direction,” police said.
Leo Dufour, an avid hiker, was traveling to an unknown destination at the time of his disappearance.
Léo Dufour weighed approximately 150 lbs, was about 1.70 m tall and had brown hair. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black Arc'Teryx coat, black pants and a beige toque. His equipment included a black North Face backpack, snowshoes, gloves and a headlamp.
On December 1, New York State declared a state of emergency in 11 counties due to heavy snow accumulation in some areas.
