The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable wishes to inform road users that the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge will be completely closed to traffic on the weekend of December 6, 2024.

Required as part of the reconstruction project, this closure will enable us to adjust the lane configuration of Highway 40 on the approaches to the bridge, in preparation for the winter period.

From Friday, December 6, at 11:59 p.m. to Monday, December 9, at 5 a.m.

Complete closure of Autoroute 40 westbound between Exit 41 - Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevueboul. Des Anciens-Combattants/autoroute 20 westbound/Île Perrot and the entrance from avenue Saint-Charles.

Westbound, access to chemin Senneville will be maintained for local traffic.

Complete closure of Autoroute 40 eastbound between exit no. 35 -Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac/Vaudreuil-Dorion/Av. Saint-Charles and the entrance from boulevard des Anciens-Combattants.

The ramp leading east from autoroute 40 to the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge will be closed at the interchange with autoroute 30. Users are invited to use autoroutes 20 and 30 instead.

Detour roads will be marked with temporary signage.

On Monday December 9 at 5 a.m., a total of three lanes will be available on the bridge, including two Montreal-bound lanes for the morning rush hour, thanks to dynamic traffic management.

Implementation of mitigation measures

During this closure, the public is invited to use public transit and take advantage of the mitigation measures in place.

Tolls will be suspended in both directions on Autoroute 30 to provide an additional option.

The Ministry advises road users who will have to travel in the area to allow extra time to reach their destination.

Work may be postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions or operational constraints. Before taking to the road, we recommend that you consult Québec 511, a practical tool for planning your travel.
