Another busy week draws to a close. Here's what's been happening in Vaudreuil-Soulanges over the past few days.     

A cigarette butt may have caused a fire in Coteau-du-Lac

A detached garage on the property at 59 rue Gaëtan-Guérin in Coteau-du-Lac was dammaged by flames on Sunday evening, November 24. The call was forwarded to the emergency call center at 9:30 p.m., and the response required the presence of three fire departments from the region.

Kindergarten children are more vulnerable when it comes to communication

Children are increasingly vulnerable when it comes to communication. At least, that's what emerges from the Étude québécoise sur le développement des enfants à la maternelle (EQDEM) 2022, the results of which were presented on November 12 by Vaudreuil-Soulanges' early childhood partners, the Direction de la santé publique de la Montérégie and the Table de concertation en petite enfance de Vaudreuil-Soulanges.

A project on a human scale for Conteneurs Experts in late 2024

Over the next few weeks, the non-profit organization Transition Québec will be launching the Transition Village project, a first in Canada that will take place in Gatineau, in the Outaouais region. Among the project's partners is Conteneurs Experts, a company that has been well-established in Vaudreuil-Soulanges for 22 years.

December 15: the Choeur classique sings at Saint-Télesphore church

On Sunday, December 15 at 2 p.m., the church of Saint-Télesphore will host a Christmas concert by the Choeur classique Vaudreuil-Soulanges, performing its most beautiful Christmas melodies.

After several weeks of construction, the 111th store in the Super C chain officially opened its doors this morning in Rigaud. Thanks to a $3.6 million investment, the 24,700 sq. ft. store now employs 65 people - most of the former Metro employees, plus some 30 new faces.

The exterior of Block A of the future Hôpital de Vaudreuil-Soulanges is complete

At his annual general meeting, Dominique Pilon, assistant director of CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest, which will become Santé Québec Montérégie on Sunday, gave an update on the Vaudreuil-Soulanges hospital construction site. Construction of the hospital is well underway and on schedule.
