Bronchiolitis and pneumonia are caused by this virus
CISSSMO can now immunize babies against RSV
Since November 4, parents of babies under 6 months and more vulnerable children living in the Suroît region can protect their little ones against the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), a seasonal virus responsible for infections such as bronchiolitis and pneumonia.
Thanks to Nirevimab, a new free immunizing agent, a simple intramuscular injection is all it takes to reduce the risk of serious complications. Quebec is the first province to offer this immunizing agent by intramuscular injection, available since November 4.
Access criteria :
- Infants under 6 months of age on October 1, 2024, or born since that date;
