On Sunday November 17, the Pause 24h organization is offering interested parties the chance to leave their screens behind for a whole day. The aim of this programmed disconnection? To encourage participants to think and act without the constant reminder of external influences.

The organization is proposing four challenges for young and old alike:

- 24 hours without a screen (cell phone, computer, tablet, console, TV) for leisure activities;

- 24 hours without social networking;

- 24 hours without video games (even on the phone);

- 24 hours without streaming (including Youtube);

By registering and choosing the option of their choice on https://pausetonecran.com/, participants have the chance to win $1,000 in cash.

Nowadays, electronic devices with screens, and more specifically our cell phones, have many uses. They can be used to listen to podcasts or music, activate alarms, use GPS to get around, talk to someone in video mode, and even work or study.

Those who decide to take up the challenge will have to do so in its entirety, i.e. not use a cell phone, tablet, computer, TV or even a console for a full day, from midnight to 11:59pm.

This challenge also aims to make them aware of the place they give to screens in their lives, and to reframe themselves if necessary.

While for some, this challenge is easy enough to meet on a day-to-day basis, others are motivated to participate every year to take a step back from this intrusion of technology into their daily lives.At the other end of the spectrum, there are people who say they can't do without the devices that connect them to the rest of the world, while others won't take up the challenge because cell phones and computers are part of their working tools.
