Centre de services scolaire des Trois-Lacs
The CSSTL wants two new elementary schools in its territory.
Faced with the consistent population growth within the territory of the Centre de services scolaire des Trois-Lacs (CSSTL), the government organization hopes to build two new elementary schools and undertake major expansion work at three of its facilities, while replacing another.
Recently, the CSSTL submitted several requests to Quebec's Ministry of Education (MEQ) as part of the 2025-2035 Quebec Infrastructure Plan (PQI).
These investment requests aim to increase the CSSTL’s capacity to accommodate the strong demographic growth in Vaudreuil-Soulanges. The MEQ will review these requests and is expected to make a decision by summer 2025.
CSSTL Requests
Expansion of Chêne-Bleu High School to add 500 student spaces
Construction of a 24-classroom elementary school on Île Perrot
Construction of a 19-classroom elementary school in the municipality of Les Coteaux
Expansion of Harwood School: addition of 6 classrooms
Expansion of Papillon-Bleu School (Sainte-Trinité): addition of 6 classrooms
Replacement of Marguerite-Bourgeoys School with a new 15-classroom building
Major Investments
In addition to inaugurating the new Les Cèdres elementary school, École des Canotiers, this past September, the CSSTL has carried out extensive renovations across several of its facilities in recent months.
The elementary schools that have seen renovations in recent weeks include: José-Maria, Val-des-Prés (three buildings), Saint-Ignace Pavilion in Coteau-du-Lac, Léopold-Carrière, Saint-Zotique, Riveraine, Saint-Michel, Sainte-Madeleine, Saint-Thomas, Papillon-Bleu (two buildings), Épervière, Hymne-au-Printemps, Notre-Dame-de-Lorette, Virginie-Roy, and Perdriolle.
The secondary schools of Cité-des-Jeunes, Chêne-Bleu, and Soulanges were also the focus of construction projects this summer.
The annual funding allocated by the MEQ for asset maintenance, such as the work at the aforementioned schools, varies from year to year. For reference, the CSSTL received $20,461,936 for the 2023-2024 period, while this amount has been reduced to $16,203,099 for 2024-2025.
