Multidisciplinary artist Natacha Marleau is exhibiting her photographic work at the Musée Société des Deux-Rives (MUSO) gallery from now until December 8. This Coteau-du-Lac resident is passionate about photography, theater and writing - she won a poetry prize last March, with her text Novae Terrae, inspired by a work by Francis Plourde, in a contest organized by the MUSO.

The photographs hang in MUSO's small passageway leading to the main exhibition, just behind the boutique. Natacha describes her selection as follows: “There are about ten photos; I concentrated on Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. I focused on the natural aspect of the landscape, without forgetting the sacred and urban sides. It's a fine summary of my work, with the technical choices I'm currently favoring .

She continues: “ I've had a lot of fun working with the photos, to create cinematographic aspects that can be appreciated in the exhibition. I've inverted the photographic values; this sometimes gives a fluorescent effect. It's a style that's beginning to represent me well. I'm also exhibiting a triptych - 3 works linked to Peter Rozon's exhibition (women working in the cotton barn) with a nod to the women who worked in the cotton fields. My landscapes are both realistic and impressionistic “.

Storytelling evening at the Côté gauche bookshop

Natacha adds: “I'll be presenting a reading at the Coté gauche bookstore, at 33, rue du Marché in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, of a tale I've reworked and written myself. I first presented this tale at the Maison Félix-Leclerc this summer. Entitled Récit initiatique raconté, it tells the story of a woman who, even as a little girl, seeks to escape the world of childhood.“ The date has yet to be confirmed.

Next artists to exhibit at the Galerie du MUSO :

- December: Nicole Daignault

2025

- January: Rosi Maria Di Meglio
