It was during the extraordinary meeting of November 4 that the council of the MRC of Vaudreuil-Soulanges appointed Mr. Alexandre Lambert to the position of general director.

Holder of a doctorate in planning and a master's degree in urban planning, Mr. Lambert has several years of experience in the municipal sector. In particular, for the Minister of Municipal Affairs, he led the reform of the law on land use planning and new government guidelines in land use planning.

“It is with a certain excitement, but above all a lot of humility, that I accept this new challenge. I thank the council for the trust placed in me and I take it as a great responsibility to increase the collaboration of the MRC with all its partners in the territory, in particular the 23 municipalities. Teamwork is not only a strength, but an essential need for me. I am privileged to be part of a solid and competent team, up to the challenges and ambitions to serve our region,” says Mr. Alexandre Lambert, general director of the MRC of Vaudreuil Soulanges.

Remember that Mr. Lambert has been in office since February 2024 as interim deputy general manager and as interim general manager since June 2024. Remember that last June, the former general director, Guy-Lin Beaudoin had been suspended while an investigation is carried out. Mr. Beaudoin finally officially left office in July.

“On my behalf and that of the members of the council, I would like to warmly congratulate Mr. Alexandre Lambert on his appointment as director general of the MRC, as well as his colleagues in their respective new positions. These changes are being implemented with a sincere desire to constantly improve the MRC and the general management can count on the support of the members of the Council in the exercise of its functions in order to advance our regional files for the good of the citizens of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region” underlines Mr. Patrick Bousez, prefect of the MRC and mayor of Rivière-Beaudette.

Internal restructuring

Following an analysis of organizational needs, the MRC also proceeded, during the same session, to revise its management structure, by abolishing, among others, the positions of deputy general director and human resources director.

As part of the restructuring, Me Marie-Hélène Rivest was appointed to the position of director of the registry and clerk-treasurer, Julie Cassab was appointed to the position of director of communications and social development and Maïté Thibault, director of finance and of accounting will also act as assistant clerk-treasurer.

A position in the management of the planning and geomatics department which will be filled.
