Another busy week draws to a close. Here's what's been happening in Vaudreuil-Soulanges over the past few days.     

Where are the most cars stolen in Vaudreuil-Soulanges?

Since June 2023, 266 vehicles have been stolen in Vaudreuil-Soulanges. At least, that's what the interactive map published by the Journal de Montréal on Friday, November 1 reveals. 

Smile Cookies return in November

Tim Hortons' Smile Cookies are back this fall in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region. Pre-sale orders will be available until November 16 from the Centre d'action bénévole Soulanges or Tim Hortons restaurants in the region.

CSUR: Christmas drawing contest for under-18s

Members of the Coop d'économie participative CSUR are invited to participate in the 2024 edition of their “ Christmas Drawing ” contest . The deadline for entries is Tuesday, December 10, 2024. The competition is open to young people under 18.

IKEA to locate in Vaudreuil-Dorion

The globally renowned Swedish furniture retailer, IKEA, plans to establish a planning and ordering center in Vaudreuil-Dorion in the spring of 2025. Although the company has not specified the exact location, it is widely believed that the site could be the building initially intended for a Walmart warehouse in the Henry-Ford industrial park.

November : Radon awareness month

Vaudreuil-Dorion District 4 De la Seigneurie Councillor Karine Lechasseur tabled a notice of motion at the November 4 municipal council meeting, asking the municipal council to place a reserve notice and submit a subsidy application in order to proceed with the acquisition of the Camping D'Aoust lands with a view to annexing them to the Harwood Nature Park.

Desjardins Vaudreuil-Soulanges to restructure its branch network

On November 1st, the Desjardins Caisse of Vaudreuil-Soulanges announced the closure of its three automated service centers in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges area, as well as the closure of the Saint-Lazare Service Center. These closures will take effect on November 24.

Nadine Blanchette's desert crossing

It was during the extraordinary meeting of November 4 that the council of the MRC of Vaudreuil-Soulanges appointed Mr. Alexandre Lambert to the position of general director.

Two new managers join the Cégep de Valleyfield staff

Cégep de Valleyfield recently welcomed two new executives to its ranks. The first, Daniel Sauvé, is Administrative Manager of the Vaudreuil-Dorion Study Center, while the second, Pierre Lefebvre, is Interim General Manager of the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield main campus.
