On Monday, October 21, at the regular meeting of the municipal council, the elected officials of the Municipalité des Coteaux ratified a resolution to award a contract for a photogrammetric analysis of the Rivière Delisle. A sum of $9,500 plus taxes will be awarded to the firm JFSA to carry out this mandate.

“Following the collapse of rue Lippé several months ago, we wanted to carry out a more in-depth analysis of the stability of the banks of the Rivière Delisle, in order to ensure and improve the safety of residents in the area and of the Municipality as a whole. This analysis was recommended to us by engineering professionals from the Fédération québécoise des municipalités (FMQ). A more precise study using photogrammetry will enable us to better understand the phenomena of erosion and bank recession, improve safety and better plan preventive measures,” explained Mayor Sylvain Brazeau on the subject.

The results of this operation could influence current projections of recession rates for a period of 25, 50 and 100 years, and could potentially adjust these values, notably by reducing the safety margin applied due to current uncertainties.

A citizens' meeting is planned

Residents of the Rue Lippé area, whether or not they live nearby, will be able to get answers to their questions. On Wednesday, November 13, at 7:30 p.m. at 21 rue Prieur, the Municipalité des Coteaux is organizing a citizens' meeting in the presence of engineers, representatives of the municipal urban planning department and general management.

“Citizens will be able to share their fears and concerns with us that evening. Unfortunately, we won't be able to provide a more detailed timetable for the work, as it depends on a number of government bodies and it is difficult to estimate when it will be completed,” added General Manager Pamela Nantel.
