Following the adoption of its Family and Seniors Policy and Action Plan in December 2023, the municipal council of Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac is calling for applications from its citizens.

The elected officials would like to set up a Seniors' Committee. Considering that people aged 65 and over represent 19.5% of the municipality's population, there is a need to set up activities for this group of citizens, they feel.

The Seniors Committee's mandate will be to encourage, facilitate dialogue and advise on seniors' issues, providing a forum for seniors' concerns. It will also build relationships with the village and regional seniors' communities. He/she will be a catalyst to make things happen for seniors / Organize activities: card club, fitness, lectures, music and singing, arts and crafts, physical activities, etc.

You don't have to be available year-round, or for all committee meetings. Initially, to set up the committee and define its mode of operation, projects, etc., the city plans to hold one meeting a month.

Thereafter, responsibilities will be shared and the Committee will meet according to its needs and availability. Between 5 and 10 citizens will make up the committee, which will be joined by a representative of VSLL management and a member of the municipal council.

Dynamic individuals interested in getting involved in their community are invited to send their name, telephone number and e-mail address to: [email protected], by October 25.
