This Wednesday, October 9, Hudson residents are invited to become a fire prevention superhero by taking part in the Great Evacuation between 6 and 8 pm. This initiative is an opportunity for local families to test their evacuation plans and make sure everyone knows what to do in an emergency.

Every year, fire departments across Quebec circulate through their area with lights and sirens activated to simulate the activation of a smoke alarm. When they sound on the streets of Hudson, citizens will be asked to implement their evacuation plan and leave their building, as well as to meet in a common area away from home.

“The Hudson Fire Department will be driving around town this Wednesday, October 9, from 6 to 8 p.m., with our lights and sirens activated, to simulate the activation of your smoke detector. Come and show us that you're ready for an emergency. Use the EVACUATION PLANNER to plan your evacuation. The time you spend now practicing your evacuation plan could mean the seconds you'll need in a real emergency,” says the city's website.

For more information, call the prevention division at 450-458-5347, ext. 5225 or e-mail [email protected]
