Two Montérégie residents, Yvon Desrosiers and Anthony Vincelli, experienced a day rich in positive emotions on Friday August 16. They learned that day that they had become lottery millionaires.

They each won $1,000,000 on August 16 thanks to tickets purchased in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC: Mr. Desrosiers on the Extra and Mr. Vincelli on the Lotto Max.

“Could you check this out? I think I'm a millionaire!

Yvon Desrosiers was very surprised to win such a large amount. He checked his ticket three times using the self-service ticket checker. Looking for further confirmation, he went to the retailer and said, “Could you check this? I think I'm a millionaire! Thanks to his winnings, he plans to treat himself to a new vehicle.

He bought his ticket at Dépanneur Hamel des Coteaux. The retailer will receive a commission of $10,000, equivalent to 1% of the winnings.

Stunned at the grocery store

As for Anthony Vincelli, it was at the grocery store that he learned the good news. On discovering the amount on the screen, he immediately texted his wife to come and join him. At the sight of the handsome sum, they were both stunned! This new millionaire hopes to use his winnings to pay off his mortgage and prepare for his daughter's future at school.

The new millionaire purchased his winning ticket at the Couche-Tard convenience store on boulevard de la Gare, in Vaudreuil-Dorion.  This retailer will receive a commission of $10,000, equivalent to 1% of the winnings.
