Vaudreuil-Dorion's three independent councillors, Jasmine Sharma, Karine Lechasseur and Diane Morin, will be holding a citizens' meeting on Wednesday, October 23 at 7pm. The event, which will take place at the Centre Multisports André-Chagnon, will focus on citizens' budget priorities.

The political meeting will be held at 7 p.m., in Room 1. Interested parties can spread the word to their neighbors, associations and organizations. “The more councillors we are, the more we can be the voice of those we represent”, they state in the invitation.

The leaves are changing color, a sign that autumn is well underway. Many are already looking for their Halloween costumes, others are taking advantage of the beautiful weekends to go apple picking, but on the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion side, autumn rhymes with the preparation of the City's next budget.

In municipal politics, this time of year is devoted to budget study. It's a time to plan spending for the coming year, but it's also a time for elected officials to formulate their demands for their respective districts, and to present projects and issues that are important to citizens.

In order to be well prepared, but above all to best represent the interests of citizens, the trio is inviting interested parties to a citizens' chat to discuss the 2025 municipal budget.

This will be an opportunity to discuss priorities and expectations of the municipal government.

Municipalities' financial capacity is limited, and their responsibilities are increasingly important. It is therefore essential to target the projects in which they wish to invest, as well as the services they wish to maintain.Infrastructure maintenance must also remain a priority in order to maintain what has already been achieved.Citizens will also have the opportunity to make their voices heard on October 16 and 23 at 7 p.m. during a neighborhood discussion in the Bâtisseurs district. The event will be held at the Édifice La Croisée.
