Open house at Tricentris sorting center

Take a behind-the-scenes look at the processing of recyclable materials this Saturday

This Saturday, October 5, Vaudreuil-Soulanges residents interested in discovering the path taken by their recyclable materials will be able to do so. The Tricentris sorting center serving the region is located in Lachute in the MRC d'Argenteuil. It will open its doors from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

This will be a great opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes look at the facility, which is located at 601 chemin Félix-Touchette, in Lachute. There will be a break between noon and 12:30 p.m. for the guided tours. 

Accompanied by the guides, visitors will be able to discover the process of sorting recyclable materials from the bin to the baler. They will also be able to ask questions to the Bin Coaches and learn lots of tips for better sorting and looking educated at the next family dinner.

- Materials exhibition;
- Bin Coach;
- Sweet surprise;
- Games;

Plant tours last about 20 minutes and are conducted in small groups. Frequent departures, approximately every five minutes, are scheduled. 

Please note that children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult during the tour. Long pants and shoes closed at the ankle are mandatory to enter the factory. Legs and feet must be completely covered, with no visible skin.

Please note that there are several staircases to be climbed and descended during the tour. Participants must be able to move around easily. 

On-site parking 

Parking spaces are limited. Car pooling is therefore recommended. 

Planned work 

Work is currently underway on chemin Félix-Touchette and boulevard Cristini. It is therefore necessary to make a detour to get to the sorting center from route 158 (route Sir Wilfrid-Laurier). The Ville de Lachute specifies that until mid-November. Only local traffic will be allowed to acc
