During her Shaved Head Challenge on Saturday, September 28, Lazaroise Geneviève Robillard almost doubled her goal of raising $1,000. Geneviève Robillard will donate $1,894 to Leucan.

She thanked her family and valued friends, Mr. Chartrand and Bar Chez Maurice for allowing her to use their parking lot, and Rachel Brisebois for making her face so beautiful. Donors were numerous.

We were busy all the time; my mother was great, she would pick people up and tell them my story, and people would participate and be moved,” says Geneviève.

People would stop in their cars and make donations. Geneviève said she was very grateful. Her husband, Patrick Lepage, also took the opportunity to shave his hair at the Défi as a gesture of encouragement. It was Geneviève who shaved him at first: “It was very touching, and then I let the hairdresser continue to give him a beautiful head,” she adds.

I couldn't stop smiling, I had tears in my eyes, but they were tears of happiness,” explains Geneviève, describing her state of mind during the shaved heads event.

On behalf of all the sick and healed children, Geneviève would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all her benefactors.

Geneviève suffered from leukemia in 1988, at the age of 14, and received weekly chemotherapy treatments for two years. She is now in remission.
