The Vaudreuil-Soulanges Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIVS) reacted to the tragic death of its former General Manager, Me Mathieu Miljours, via its Vice-President, Mélanie Bossé. The region's MNAs, Claude DeBellefeuille of Salaberry-Suroît and Marilyne Picard of Soulanges, also commented on the sudden loss. 

Late on Thursday September 12, Ms. Bossé took control of the CCIVS Facebook page to publish the following statement: 

It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of Mathieu Miljours. At this difficult time, our thoughts turn to the family and loved ones, to whom we offer our most sincere condolences. The pain of losing a loved one is immense, and we wholeheartedly share their grief. We wish them much courage and comfort to get through this ordeal.

We cherish in our hearts a person who was very involved and dedicated to our business community for many years. He left behind unforgettable memories, having touched many lives through his dedication, professionalism and kindness.

Please know that the employees of the Chamber of Commerce “ Isabelle, Vanessa and Jihane, all the members of the Board of Directors ‘ Serge, Mélanie, Chloé, Pedro, Philippe, Luc, Eric, Josiane, Jean-François and all the employees of the SAAQ ’ Josée, Sylvie, Kathleen, Michelle and Coralie ”, remain united in this time of mourning and that our support is with you.

For her part, Claude DeBellefeuille, MNA for Salaberry-Suroît, issued this statement to the media: 

“It is with great sadness that I learn of the death of Mathieu Miljours, who was until recently Director of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Chamber of Commerce and Industry.I have fond memories of his sense of humour and his unwavering passion for the economic development of Vaudreuil-Soulanges and for defending the region's businesses. I offer my sincere condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.“

For her part, Soulanges MNA Marilyne Picard was also keen to remember this man involved in the region. “A whirlwind. An incomprehension. An injustice. The sudden death of a member of our family is heartbreaking. My sincere sympathies go out to his family and friends, and my thoughts are especially with his young children, whom he leaves in mourning.”
