An elderly man in his forties lost his life around midnight on Thursday, September 12, while riding his motorcycle on Chemin du Fleuve in Les Cèdres. Following a loss of control, the motorcyclist swerved, injuring himself and leaving emergency services fearing for his life.

“Unfortunately, the victim died in the final hours. There is a speed bump on the road where the accident occurred. We don't know whether the motorcyclist missed it and was thrown further after driving over it at normal speed. A reconstructionist was called to the scene in the last few hours to understand and establish the circumstances of the accident,” says Sûreté du Québec spokesman Louis-Philippe Ruel.
