Rivière-Beaudette becomes « Municipalité amie des aînés »
Marilyne Picard, MNA for Soulanges, announced this Thursday, on behalf of Sonia Bélanger, Minister responsible for Seniors and Minister Delegate for Health, that the municipality of Rivière-Beaudette has been recognized as a Municipalité amie des aînés (MADA).
This recognition recognizes the quality of the efforts undertaken by a municipality, a Regional County Municipality (RCM) or an Aboriginal community, which has adopted a policy and an action plan to promote active aging.
Because of their proximity to citizens and their areas of responsibility, municipalities and MRCs are better able to intervene and mobilize local players and seniors on their territory to build environments that are better adapted to all ages of life.
“What a wonderful achievement it is to be recognized as an Age-Friendly Municipality. It's another step forward in our drive to make our community a living environment that takes seniors' needs into account. I would like to thank all the teams and all the seniors who took part in all the stages of consultation and development of the policy and action plan as part of this process. The municipality of Rivière-Beaudette can count on my full cooperation in the implementation of all these actions,” emphasized the MNA.
