Eat Local 2024 open house: a farm in Les Cèdres takes part
Returning to its original format, the Eat Local 2024 open house event will take place across Quebec on Sunday, September 8. This year, the general public will be able to visit 9 Montérégie farms, including Les Entreprises Julien Cousineau inc, located in Les Cèdres.
The family business, owned by Julien and Marc-André Cousineau, has been a field crop farm since 1985, and will be transitioning to organic farming in 2019. The 700-hectare farm produces corn kernels, wheat, soybeans, peas and sweet corn. In 2024, the company received the Ferme agrEAUenvironnementale award, which recognizes farms that adopt exemplary agri-environmental practices.
Those interested in discovering the company can do so from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1078 Chemin Saint-Féréol, Les Cèdres, QC, J7T 1N6.
It's the perfect opportunity to learn more about the agricultural environment and reality that surrounds them, and to discover quality local products, encouraging them to eat local. On the program: animated tours, tastings, animal discovery, workshops and pick-your-own.
