L'Île-Perrot-born triathlete Emy Legault will represent not only Canada, but also the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region, at the Paris Olympic Games.

She will start her solo race from the Alexandre III bridge on July 31, at 8 a.m. Paris time, while the mixed relay category will compete on August 5, also at 8 a.m. Paris time.

Aged 28, Emy Legault already has several major international competitions under her belt. In 2023, Legault helped Canada win the bronze medal in the mixed relay at the Pan-American Games in Santiago.

In 2022, she placed second at the Triathlon World Cup in Huatulco, Mexico. After helping Canada to a fifth-place finish in the mixed relay at the World Sprint Triathlon and Relay Championships in Montreal, she achieved her first career top-10 individual result at the World Triathlon Championship Series in Hamburg, Germany.

She then competed in her first major Games, finishing 10th at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. That fall, she won two gold medals at the Triathlon Championships of the Americas, taking bronze in the women's race and silver in the mixed relay.

The Paris Olympic Games will be held from July 26 to August 11.
