Six graduating students from Vaudreuil-Soulanges high schools have each won a $250 bursary as part of the Conseil des arts et de la culture de Vaudreuil-Soulanges (CACVS) Excellence Bursary Program.

Launched in 2020, the Excellence in the Arts Scholarship Program rewards students who have distinguished themselves not only through their academic results in the arts, but also through their outreach and involvement in creativity.

"We set up this program at the suggestion of a CACVS administrator, as we noticed that there were many scholarships awarded for excellence in various subjects, but few, if any, in the arts. The bursaries for graduates are part of our youth cultural citizenship program, which is deployed according to different age groups (preschool, elementary and high school).  The awarding of these scholarships also reflects our intention to identify new talent and reward young people in the region for their excellence in the arts, whatever the discipline. This recognition sometimes leads to collaborations between young artists and the municipality in which they reside," emphasizes Nadine Maltais, CACVS General Manager.

The 2024 scholarship recipients are:

- Annabelle Clément - Les Coteaux - École secondaire des Navigateurs;

- Antoine Mailloux - Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot - École secondaire de la Cité-des-Jeunes;

- Dana Al Khalifa - Pincourt - École secondaire du Chêne-Bleu;

- Félix Barsalou - Saint-Polycarpe - Soulanges High School;

- Kate-Lee Marleau - Les Coteaux - Collège Bourget de Rigaud;

- Marilou Chevrier - École secondaire des Échos;
