Another busy week draws to a close. Here's what's been happening in Vaudreuil-Soulanges over the past few days.

Composting platform: Post-mortem on project failure

The lack of a project office, underestimation of social acceptability, gaps in studies and available data: these are the findings of a report by the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC on the implementation of a composting platform in Saint-Télesphore.

BMX athlete Justin Lafleur took advantage of the Canadian Championships held this weekend in Coteau-du-Lac to secure his place at the 2025 World Championships to be held in July in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Canadian BMX Championship: a more than positive assessment for the organizing committee

Eclectic line-up for the 18th Hudson Music Festival

From August 2 to 5, the Town of Hudson will be vibrating to the sounds of the 18th edition of the Festival de musique, which promises once again to provide spectators with an unforgettable experience. Nearly $500,000 to renovate Saint-Zotique Town Hall

More than a year after the April 2023 ice storm that caused major damage to the basement of Saint-Zotique Town Hall, the municipal council on Tuesday, July 9 awarded the contract to renovate the building to Les Constructions GMP inc. for a maximum of $500,000, taxes included. 

Work on 23rd Avenue in Saint-Zotique will cost more than expected

Repairs to the storm drainage system on 23rd Avenue in Saint-Zotique will end up costing the Town more than expected. This was confirmed at the regular meeting held on Tuesday, July 9, when elected officials ratified a borrowing by-law for $3,272,000. 

Gabrielle Larouche: an art enthusiast not afraid to step outside her comfort zone

It was at elementary school that Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot artist Gabrielle Larouche discovered her artistic potential. A new director for Coteau-du-Lac's fire department

On Tuesday, July 9, the Coteau-du-Lac municipal council ratified the appointment of a new director for the Fire Department. He is Patrick Laberge, who began his career with the local brigade in February 2007. 

The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion faces a second refusal from the provincial government  

The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion was recently notified by the Ministère de l'Éducation du Québec that its request for financial support for its project to build an aquatic complex submitted as part of the call for projects under the Programme d'aide financière aux infrastructures récréatives, sportives et de plein air - volet 1 (PAFIRSPA) was not accepted.

Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC recognized for its environmental proactivity

The MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges is proud to announce that it was awarded ICI on recycle + "Performance" certification on June 12! The achievement of this level is the fruit of efforts made by MRC employees to reduce their environmental impact in the workplace.
