The MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges is launching a series of three new video vignettes on organic waste, under the slogan "Pour que votre bac brun soit numéro 1! The capsules remind MRC residents of the best practices to adopt, as well as the materials accepted and refused in the brown bin.

Entitled "Pas de sacs en plastique", "Pas de métal" and "Pas n'importe quoi", the videos are aimed at improving the quality of the material going into the brown bin. Plastic bags, whether biodegradable or compostable, are among the most prevalent contaminants.  We explain why these bags are not accepted in the brown bin.

For the production and writing of the capsules, the MRC collaborated with the École nationale de l'humour to approach the various messages with humor and simplicity. They will be broadcast over the coming weeks on the MRC's Facebook and YouTube pages, as well as on the organic waste page of the Tricycle platform.

"We believe that humor is a good vehicle for conveying a serious message. The brown bin has been part of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges landscape for several years now, and we believe that a little reminder with a lighter touch will make it easier for people to adhere to this collection", mentioned Patrick Bousez, Prefect of the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges and Mayor of the municipality of Rivière-Beaudette.

If in doubt about where to dispose of a material, or for more information on the various citizens are invited to visit Tricycle, the sorting tool: www.tricycle-mrcvs.ca.
