Claude Desjardins at the helm since 1999
Traverse Oka-Hudson changes captain
After 25 years at the helm of the Traverse Oka-Hudson, Claude Desjardins announces a change of guard at the head of the company. The ferry will now be managed by a father-and-son duo, Serge and Philippe Daignault.
"My career at the ferry has enabled me to take up some great challenges. From the acquisition in 1999 of a very small-scale, but endearing ferry, to the steps leading to dredging, followed by the design, construction and commissioning of our two great ferries, which will proudly navigate the Lake of Two Mountains for a long time to come," said Mr. Desjardins on the Traverse Oka-Hudson social networks.
Claude Desjardins and his wife, Line, embarked on their adventure in 1999. Over the years, the couple's two children, Élie and Arielle, joined the business. "Working with them has given us a great sense of complicity, and made us a close-knit family," he adds.
Finally, Mr. Desjardins paid tribute to La Traverse's many partners and customers.
"I'd like to extend my sincere thanks and greetings to everyone I've had the opportunity to work with in the MRCs of Deux-Montagnes and Vaudreuil-Soulanges, and the towns of Hudson and Oka. It's been an honor to be at your side. Our loyal suppliers, consultants and collaborators, each and every one of you has played an important role in the success of our projects and our daily lives. Of course, I'd like to thank our valued customers, who have been with us from spring to fall, for being part of my adventure, and I'd like you to know that I've enjoyed the many chats we've had over the years. But above all, I've been able to count on a great team. Each and every one of you has brought me great pleasure on a daily basis. We've developed a way of getting through our working days in good spirits and bursts of laughter. You have made me very proud to hear or read the many comments on the way you welcome our customers. I'll always have fond memories of each and every one of you."
