The Ministère de l'Économie et de l'Innovation reminds merchants and consumers that, in accordance with the Act respecting hours and days of admission to commercial establishments (RLRQ, chapter H-2.1) and the Regulation respecting periods of admission to commercial establishments (RLRQ, chapter H-2.1, r. 1), all shopping malls and most retail businesses must close their doors to the public on Canada Day, July 1, 2024.

The Act and Regulations do not restrict the number of employees or the hours and days of operation of restaurants, gas stations and bars.

Grocery stores, convenience stores, fruit stores, butcher shops, certain branches of the Société des alcools du Québec and others, will be able to open their doors to the public without staff restrictions all day on July 1, 2024.

Pharmacies will also be able to open on July 1, 2024, without staff restrictions between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.

As for exo's commuter trains, the Vaudreuil-Hudson and Saint-Jérôme lines will operate on the Saturday schedule.

The various collections will continue, and ecocentres will operate on their usual summer schedule.

Most museums will be open.

Most libraries, swimming pools and municipal offices will be closed, as well as Canada Post and banking institutions.
