Despite the rain, festival-goers were out in force
A look back at the 18th edition of the Festival de cirque de Vaudreuil-Dorion
Despite the unexpected weather, festival-goers once again turned out in droves for the 18th edition of the Festival de cirque de Vaudreuil-Dorion on June 21, 22 and 23. Over 40,000 people visited the Festival site.
The 2024 edition of the Festival, which officially marks the start of summer vacation, opened with the Sainte-Madeleine elementary school choir, who set the table for DJ Cidoine and the Boogie Wonder Band.
The following day, the Band de la Cité offered a tribute show to the Cowboys Fringants, revisiting the repertoire of Quebec's favorite band, a regular at the Festival de cirque, having played four times between 2010 and 2022. For the first time at the Festival, rapper FouKi got audiences of all ages up on their feet.
To celebrate the Fête nationale, the Festival team entrusted Simon Morin, the chansonnier from the late Bar 2Pierrots, with the task of thrilling the crowd on June 23. He will be preceded on stage by DJ Kleancut.
Because the Fête nationale and the Festival de cirque wouldn't be what they are without the famous fireworks display. Despite the heavy rain, the pyrotechnicians presented their pyrotechnic show to the rhythm of the Cowboys Fringants' melodies, paying their last respects to the late lead singer of the beloved band.
Finally, as always, festival-goers were able to take advantage of the many free installations and activities on site, and of course the much-appreciated rides.
Here's a look back at this colorful weekend.
