Scam: the CCIVS warns its members
The Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Vaudreuil-Soulanges" (CCIVS) has been informed that for the past few days a company has been contacting businesses in the region, offering to purchase the CCIVS distribution list.
From the outset, the CCIVS wishes to emphasize that it is committed to respecting data and that, with the help of its service providers, it ensures the utmost compliance with the laws governing data retention, in particular the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.
The Chamber also reminds you that under no circumstances does it give access to, or sell, its membership or distribution lists to third parties.
At present, all checks confirm that the Chamber has not suffered any cyber-attacks on its systems, and that no unauthorized access to its various databases has occurred.
The Chamber is therefore of the opinion that the e-mail received by some is a phishing attempt, and urges you to exercise the utmost caution.
Do not hesitate to contact the Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Vaudreuil-Soulanges if you have any concerns about the content of this e-mail. Their website is available at https://www.ccivs.ca/.
