CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest presents an overview of construction progress on the site of the future Vaudreuil-Soulanges hospital.

Construction remains on schedule. By the end of 2024, work on the exterior envelope of Pavilion A should be completed. During the cold season, workers will be able to work inside this building.

On Pavilion B, construction of the structure continues. It is estimated that all concrete slabs will be completed by spring 2025. A first coat of asphalt will also be applied to the visitor parking lot over the coming months.

"We are very pleased with the progress of the construction work to date. I sincerely believe that the arrival of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges hospital will enable us to offer health and safety services that meet the needs of the Montérégie-Ouest population," says Philippe Gribeauval, President and CEO of CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest.

Pavilion A

Pavilion A is the hospital's most important point of entry. This 4-storey pavilion houses the majority of ambulatory services, i.e. those that do not require hospitalization.

Examples include renal replacement, oncology and rehabilitation. There will also be reception facilities, laboratories, a cafeteria and an auditorium.

Work has begun on the outer shell of the pavilion. This includes the deep foundations, the various layers that make up the exterior walls, the roof and the exterior doors and windows.

Work highlights:

All foundations and piles are complete.

The garden-floor slab has been poured.

Work on the pavilion structure is complete.

The curtain wall on the first two floors is being installed.

Floor markings for the interior walls have begun.

Plumbing work to install drainage pipes is underway.

Pavilion B

At 13 storeys high, Pavilion B will house the majority of critical functions, including the emergency department, the operating theatre, critical care, medical imaging and the mother and child center.

Several care units will be located here, including medicine, surgery, active geriatrics, stroke and brief hospitalization. The pharmacy and support areas for hospital operations will be located on the garden level.

Construction highlights:

A total of 25 concrete slabs were poured.

Formwork for the concrete slab on the 4th floor of the northern part of the pavilion is underway.

The loading dock, foundation-level basilaire and northern section of the pavilion are scheduled to take shape by autumn.

Work is continuing on the staircase method.

The piles for the footbridges linking pavilions A and B are complete.

Work on the outer shell of this pavilion will begin by the end of 2024.
