Saint-Polycarpe adopts a $3,120,000 borrowing by-law
On June 10, the Saint-Polycarpe municipal council adopted borrowing by-law 201-2024 to decree an expense and a loan not exceeding $3,120,200 for the construction of a school, the purchase of land, and infrastructure and roadwork for the extension of Rue des loisirs.
Groundbreaking ceremony for the Néolia project in Pincourt
The official ground-breaking ceremony for the Néolia Cité Verte real estate project in Pincourt, to be built by Néolia Habitations inc., took place on Monday.
Violence in schools: 35% of CSSTL support staff have experienced physical violence
This Friday, June 14, Éric Pronovost, President of the Fédération du personnel de soutien scolaire, was in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region to present the results of a Violence Survey among school support staff conducted by Ad Hoc recherche at the request of the FPSS. The exercise shows that two out of 5 employees, or 45% of the Centre de services scolaires des Trois-Lacs was a victim of violence during the 2023-2024 school year.

Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge: start of shoring work under the structure
The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable informs road users that shoring work will be carried out in the coming months under the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge, on the east side, near the municipality of Senneville. Shoring consists of installing a steel structure under a portion of the bridge to provide additional support.
Increase in tax on registration: Vaudreuil-Dorion asks the CMM to reverse course
The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion is asking the Metropolitan Community of Montreal (CMM) to revoke its decision surrounding the increase in the registration tax for passenger vehicles. The increase to counter the deficit of Transport Companies will bring the tax on registration from $59 to $150 as of January 1, 2025.
Walmart arson: accused to be sentenced this fall
Luciano Minisini Burke, 18, accused of causing a fire at the Walmart in Vaudreuil-Dorion, will be sentenced this fall at the Valleyfield courthouse. The young man's case returned to court on Monday, June 17, before Judge Bertrand St-Arnaud.
Coteau-du-Lac puts the Juteau land up for sale
The City of Coteau-du-Lac announces that it will sell the Juteau land, land located behind the Caisse Desjardins, as part of a major revitalization project within the village core. Remember that the Juteau land was acquired by the City at a cost of $1 million in 2011, with the aim of avoiding uncontrolled development on this site.
2023 financial report: Surplus of $4.7M for Vaudreuil-Dorion
The treasurer and director of the Finance and Treasury Department of the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion, Marco Pilon, FCPA, OMA, tabled the 2023 financial report during the regular meeting of the municipal council on June 17.
Two Perrotdamois fly to Austria to participate in the United World Games
Two young citizens of Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot will fly to Europe, bound for Austria, to experience quite an adventure. They will represent Quebec at the United World Games, the largest junior sporting event in the world. Nathan Bento will go there to practice his favorite sport: ice hockey while Edouard Burrows-Leclerc will be there as a DEK hockey player.
The Franco-fun camp receives the Coup de cœur prize
The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion announces that the Franco-fun camp won the jury’s favorite prize at the Nomina gala, which took place on June 13 in La Prairie. This gala celebrates excellence and innovation in the field of leisure and sport in Montérégie.
More than $2 million to repair the stormwater system on 23rd Avenue in Saint-Zotique
At its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 18, the municipal council of the Ville de Saint-Zotique ratified the awarding of a contract to Transport J.R. Cyr et Fils inc. for the rehabilitation of the storm drainage system on 23rd Avenue. The work, scheduled to be completed by the end of the current year, will cost the locality $2,869,849.58, taxes included.
Sale of the former Canadian Coast Guard post in Saint-Zotique
At the regular municipal council meeting held on Tuesday, June 18, the elected officials of Saint-Zotique ratified the acceptance of an offer to purchase the residence located at 3125 rue Principale. The building, adjacent to the Plage municipale, was once occupied by the Coast Guard, which established a guard post there.
Valleyfield Triathlon: on the road to the 21st edition of the event
At a press conference held on June 19 at the Laurent-Meury rotunda in Delpha-Sauvé Park, the organizing committee announced the official launch of the 21st edition of the Valleyfield Triathlon. The MRC suspends its general manager
The MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges has mandated the firm Loranger Marcoux and the human resources table to investigate its Director General and Secretary Treasurer, Guy-Lin Beaudoin. Beaudoin has been suspended for the duration of the proceedings.
Fabio Puglisi to return to court on August 22
The case of Fabio Puglisi, the 44-year-old man charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder with assault with a weapon and aggravated assault in Vaudreuil-Dorion last February, was back in court on Thursday, June 20. The accused was absent, however, and represented by his lawyer Me. Alexandre Dubé, who requested a postponement of the case until August, before Judge Bertrand St-Arnaud.

Launch of construction work and a $10,000 donation for the Ottera project
On Tuesday, June 18, the developer of the Ottera real estate project on 20th Street in Saint-Zotique invited the media to the ground-breaking ceremony for this real estate development, which will be built right next to the new Navigateurs high school. Once completed, the project will offer 280 condos for sale or rent.
