Photographer and Rigaud resident Madeleine Langlois offers nostalgic visitors a trip back in time with her latest collection of souvenir photos from Hudson's Finnegan Market.

The book's photos capture the essence of the market's famous barns, picturesque landscape and wide array of colorful antiques and goodies. They recall the treasures found and memories created at Finnegan Market.

Printed in limited quantities, the book focuses primarily on the visual journey through Finnegan Market, with a minimum of text. The true essence lies in the collection of photographs, which encapsulate the spirit and memories of the place over the years, allowing memories of this beloved market of yesteryear to be recalled and preserved.

“The closure of Finnegan's Market during the pandemic made many people nostalgic for Hudson's beloved traditions. Finnegan's Market held a special place in the hearts of all who visited on Saturdays, offering something unique and appealing for everyone,” explains the artist, who took nearly two years to create the book.

“I also realized that many people are nostalgic for things that no longer exist in Hudson, Finnegan Market, Pine Lake, St. James Church and now Sandy Beach. I want to capture a bit of the past, the history, and share it with those who are interested,” she adds.

It was during the pandemic that Madeleine Langlois began to reflect on her vast collection of photos taken over the past 25 years in the region.

“It became clear to me that these photos had significant historical value. So I decided to create a series of photo books, starting with a heartfelt tribute to Finnegan's Market. The first of many,” promises the photographer.

The Finnegans Market souvenir photo books are available in two formats: a softcover booklet, 8“ x 6”; for $20 and an elegant hardcover, 11“ x 8” for $75.

Copies are available at the Hudson Creative Hub (273 Main Street) and Center Décor Hudson (296 Harwood Road), starting May 14.
