Due to the fire that broke out earlier this Tuesday morning, the management of Walmart Vaudreuil-Dorion has announced the indefinite closure of the store. The chain made the announcement on its social networks in the last few hours.

At around 9:30 a.m., Vaudreuil-Dorion firefighters, assisted by the Saint-Lazare and Pincourt brigades, were called to the boulevard de la Gare store after a fire broke out inside.

The blaze, which started in the household products section, was quickly contained by firefighters. Around 30 firefighters were on site at the height of the incident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Sûreté du Québec." Elements discovered on site suggest that the fire may be of suspicious and criminal origin. An investigator and a fire scene technician are on site this afternoon to learn more about the causes and circumstances of the fire. No injuries have been reported. However, one person suffered smoke inhalation, but was not taken to hospital," says police spokesman Louis-Philippe Ruel.
