Second cohort of the Accès Nouvelle Génération program
Aléo Foundation rewards four local athletes
Four local athletes have been rewarded by the Fondation Aléo as part of the Accès Nouvelle Génération program. Alison Douhou and Mia Douhou, from Coteau-du-Lac, Sasha Jouthe Klang, from Les Coteaux, and Tudor Glaveanu, from Pincourt, have become lifetime members of the Aléo family.
The Accès Nouvelle Génération program was launched in 2023 with the aim of supporting promising young student-athletes by helping them remove certain barriers to entry into top-level sport, such as financial, academic or even geographical distance constraints.
The Aléo Foundation's aim is to recognize and celebrate this talent, by encouraging
academic and athletic perseverance. Among other things, the support services offered help them to face the challenges of reconciling the multiple spheres of their realities.
From the very first cohort, the impact study carried out in the fall of 2023 found that, among other things, over 50% of the program's young people joined a Quebec team and/or obtained a sports identification (espoir, up-and-coming, elite or excellence).
In addition, the Fondation Aléo's support services enabled three young people to return to school, while nine others were able to pursue their sporting and academic careers at the highest collegiate levels. And that's not counting the boost each of them has received through public recognition of their achievements.
