Québec opens 41 new daycare spaces
On Thursday, Quebec's Minister of Family Affairs, Suzanne Roy, announced the development of 41 new subsidized educational childcare spaces in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region. These have been deployed in four establishments.
The opening of these new spaces follows a call to the network last fall to develop spaces quickly. The initiative was aimed at identifying projects under development that were stagnating, notably because the daycare center did not have a plot of land or a design plan to carry out its project.
The spaces thus recovered were redistributed to projects with a fast-track potential, requiring little or no work. The selected projects will enable the creation of reduced-rate spaces in just a few weeks.
Of the 41 places opened, 11 are immediate and 30 are for infants.
Distribution of spaces
Hudson (Wharf Street facility): 1 immediate space;
Saint-Zotique (Installation on avenue des Maîtres): 10 immediate places and 10 places for infants;
Vaudreuil-Dorion (CPE Les Petits mousses): 10 infant spaces;
Ville de L'Île-Perrot (Garderie Les enfants de l'île): 10 infant spaces.
