Just before noon, police officers from the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC responded to an armed assault at 1600 rue Émile-Bouchard, also known as the Vela housing complex, this morning.

According to information gathered on site by Néomédoa, the incident took place in the Vela III housing complex, located behind Vaudreuil-Dorion's future municipal hub and Centre Multisports André-Chagnon. 

Few details of the victims' condition were available at the time of writing. No fatalities have been confirmed by the authorities, and at least four wounded are believed to have sustained significant injuries. The suspect who is believed to have carried out the attack is said to have suffered a knife wound and has been arrested by police. 

CETAM confirms that 5 ambulances and two advanced care teams were dispatched to assist the victims. One person was transported to a Montreal hospital alongside a CETAM advanced care team due to the injuries sustained. 

Authorities are expected to provide an update on the situation in the next few minutes. Neomedia is on the scene.
