On Wednesday, January 31, the Pionniers M14-D4 were on the road to take on players from Beaconsfield High School. To support them in this game, the coaching staff was modified by welcoming Mélissa Cuerrier last to the bench.

With their family heritage (Benoit, Maxime, Sasha and Éli), the Cuerriers' experience was invaluable throughout the game, according to Les Pionniers.

She supervised the defensive brigade very well, tossing them punchy phrases throughout the game like "Two hands on the stick, guys", "more defensive retreats", "bravo, nice presence'"... she knew how to find the right words, throughout the game, to maintain harmony in the team, we analyze.

The Pioneers dominated their opponents, winning the duel 10-0. Although defensive play is usually advocated by the team's coaches, the attack simply ran wild at Beaconsfield Arena.

This explosion of goals was largely shaped by hat-tricks from Isaac Martel and Bruce Sauvageau, who were voted players of the game. Liam Leroux (2 goals) and Antoine Denis (3 assists) also made significant contributions. Another big guy was very important on defense, and Travis Grenier was voted the game's persevering player.

On their way back to the dressing room, the D4s were ecstatic, unleashed and intoxicated by the scent of victory. Victory chants resounded loudly, just as screams and group dances rocked the walls of the amphitheater, report Les Pionniers on their Facebook page.

"We felt as if the ghosts of the old Forum were accompanying us as we made our way to the exit, the last rays of the sun were beating down on our proud faces, and the bus looked more like a Drakkar taking victorious warriors back to their faraway lands," we describe in closing.
