The year 2023 ended on a high note for Claudia Comtois, President of Pointe-des-Cascades-based Alchemi Media. The small, Pointe-des-Cascades-based company won national honors at the Canadian Choice Awards 2024 competition.

According to the organization's website, the CCA celebrates the heart and soul of Canada's business community. Each year, the event highlights the small and medium-sized businesses that drive the country's economy and enrich their communities, while fostering innovation.

In the Best digital marketing Experts in Canada category, Alchemi Media took home the trophy from companies across Canada. A great honor for Ms. Comtois and her team. "It's a big event with several categories. Personally, I was not familiar with it. We were nominated by four of our customers. It's great recognition on their part, since we're a small agency and work remotely. The whole team is very happy and has been floating on cloud nine since we won," says Ms. Comtois, who runs the SME from her home in Pointe-des-Cascades.

In fact, the entrepreneur has nothing but good things to say about the community where she has moved and where her company's offices are located. "I don't know if it's the water or the Canal, but Pointe-des-Cascades is really booming right now. There's a great energy here to help local businesses grow and thrive."

The small team is very proud, and has included its new recognition in its e-mail signature. "We're thrilled to be able to showcase our part of the country and stand out among many other companies in Canada," she adds.

A rigorous selection process

While the process of entering the Canadian Choice Awards was initiated by the company's customers, Ms. Comtois and her collaborators had to go through many steps before Alchemi Media was crowned the winner in its category.

"We had to undergo remote interviews to explain our company's growth over the past year, in addition to providing customer references. They also had to participate in the process to support our candidacy. Finally, the news of our victory arrived at the end of 2023.So, in a few weeks' time, we'll be receiving a trophy and a few other prizes like a winner's banner and visibility on the competition website."

Marketing based on empathy and humanism

When submitting Alchemi Media's entry to the Canadian Choice Awards, customers were asked to write down what sets the company apart.

"It's definitely our approach, which is based on empathy and the human behind the company or service being promoted. We always try to put ourselves in the shoes of the target audience, i.e. the person receiving the information to be communicated. We always try to consider the psychological aspect behind a publication or marketing strategy. That's our leitmotiv," she concludes.
