A30 Express wishes to inform motorists that toll booth rates will be updated as of February 1, 2024.

As of this date, the toll will be $1.95 per axle for category 1 vehicles (normal cars), for a total of $3.90. Category 2 vehicles (230 cm or more in height) will be charged $2.90 per axle. Users of electric vehicles with green plates and valid transponders are reminded that they can cross the tolls free of charge. This initiative is made possible by the Quebec government's program for the electrification of transport.

Why is there a rate increase?

The rate formula is defined in the agreement between the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable and the A30 Express, and is directly linked to the number of vehicles passing through the toll plaza. The rate therefore varies for every 2,000 vehicles passing through daily. In 2022, around 25,000 vehicles passed through daily. By 2023, the number had risen to over 27,800 vehicles, exceeding the previous year's figure, and resulting in higher tariffs.

Where does the money go?

Toll revenues are shared with the Ministry above a certain threshold. They are also used to repay the debt incurred in building the A30 and for road maintenance.

The A30 Express transponder remains free of charge, with no purchase or management fees for Category 1 and 2 accounts.This passage method also offers an electronic statement of account.
