Following the resignation of Coteau-du-Lac District 3 Élzéar-Deguire Councillor David Lee Amos earlier in 2023, five candidates entered the race to fill the vacant seat. Among them is 29-year district resident Line Roussin, who is entering the race.

Retired from the Quebec civil service for 4 years, Ms. Roussin worked there for 35 years. With a bachelor's degree in educational and vocational information, she first worked as an employment counsellor for two years, then as an investigator and supervisor in public funds fraud investigations for 23 years. For the last 10 years of her career, she held the position of Director of a local employment center, where she managed public funds and was responsible for customer service.

She has been a regular attendee at municipal council meetings for many years, and believes she is well aware of the issues affecting the citizens of Coteau-du-Lac.

"Essentially, my priorities are: to revitalize the town center in connection with the environment and nature, to maximize the development of the industrial park, to keep the tax rate as low as possible, to improve information to citizens and to see to the repair of the sidewalks in the town center. I feel ready for this challenge, and I believe that my professional background will be an asset to the municipality," she sums up.

Advance polls will be held on Sunday, December 10, and the election itself on December 17. The candidate invites the citizens of District 3 to exercise their right to vote.
