Death of Auberge des Gallant founder Gérard Gallant
The wife of Auberge des Gallant founder Linda Gallant confirmed the death of her husband Gérard Gallant on Tuesday.
Well-known in the region, Mr. Gallant founded the inn on Chemin Saint-Henri in the hills of Sainte-Marthe in 1972.
At the turn of the year 2000, Gérard Gallant and his wife added another string to their bow by inaugurating their own sugar factory, a dream they had cherished for many years.
Starting with just six rooms and a dining room for 26 guests, the hotel complex now boasts some 100 rooms, a 60-seat dining room, several function rooms for up to 200 guests, two outdoor spas and a beauty center.
In 2021, after nearly 50 years at the helm of the Auberge des Gallant, Gérard and Linda Gallant have passed the torch to their son Steven and nephew Dominic Gallant.
