Boil water advisory in effect in Saint-Zotique
An aqueduct failure is causing a temporary water cut in the western sector of the Town of Saint-Zotique between 1400 rue Principale and Rivière-Beaudette.
The Town is assessing the problem in the afternoon of Tuesday, October 31, with a view to getting water back into homes as soon as possible. Homes in the area will have water flowing again over the next few hours, as indicated on social networks.
A precautionary boil-water advisory will be in effect for citizens in these sectors when the water returns. Water must be boiled for at least 2 minutes before consumption.
A drinking water distribution station has been set up near the entrance to the water filtration plant, located at 1256 Rue Principale, near City Hall. This station is now operational and will remain in service until the aqueduct repairs are completed. Citizens are encouraged to go to this distribution station to fill their jugs with free drinking water.
For the duration of the boil water advisory, a pop-up announcement will be posted on the home page of the city's website (www.st-zotique.com). A second message will be sent by e-mail at the end of the boil notice, and the pop-up ad on the website will be removed.
