The Vaudreuil-Dorion region shone at the recent Skate Canada 2023 International in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Vaudreuil-Dorion pair of Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps brought the crowd to its feet at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre after an impressive free program that earned them the gold medal in the pair event.

They demonstrated that they are well on their way to achieving their goal of a podium finish at the World Championships to be held next spring in Montreal.

Deanna and Maxime scored a personal best 142.34 points in their "Interview with a Vampire" themed free program, and took gold with a total combined score of 214.64 points in their first International Grand Prix of the season.

"I'm very happy with today's performance, which is rare for me," said Deanna. "It's still early in the season but we've been waiting for a performance like this for years, we worked very hard to be able to deliver this performance today." Maxime mentioned that it's only the start of the season and there's still work to be done, but they're happy with the work they've done so far.

Next up is the Cup of China Grand Prix, to be held November 10-12, 2023 in Chongqing, China.
