Fifteenth edition of Christmas Market busier than ever
Christmas before time at Coteau-du-Lac in November
The City of Coteau-du-Lac confirms that the fifteenth edition of its Christmas Market will be held on November 25 and 26 in the heart of the village core.
Once again this year, the program will combine the discovery of artisans/producers, local shopping and pre-Christmas festivities. In 2022, the event welcomed 80 exhibitors and over 4,000 visitors over the weekend. The number of visitors and exhibitors makes this one of the biggest markets in the region.
Exhibitors and food stands
A record number of producers will be on hand for this year's event. Nearly 90 exhibitors will be showcasing their creations: woodwork, agri-food products, jewelry, clothing and textiles, soaps and candles, decorations, artistic productions, and more.
Visitors can explore the indoor booths as they stroll through the Wilson Pavilion and Wilson Community Centre. This year, the Société d'histoire et de généalogie de Coteau-du-Lac will be showcasing its antiques, photos and books in the former Maison des Optimistes. As for the exhibitors occupying the outdoor huts, they will be offering a wide choice of ready-to-drink and ready-to-eat products. The food offering will be greatly enhanced this year. You'll be able to sample food on site all day long, or take your favorites home with you. There will be microbreweries, an outdoor bar with hot cocktails, European hot dogs, grilled meats, pizza, beer cheese fondue, a street food truck serving Belgian fries and waffles, as well as pastries and sweets.
Colorful entertainment
A diversified program of events will enliven the site and ensure a lively atmosphere on both days. The program includes a visit from Santa Claus, sleigh rides and horse brushing, a photo rally, tree lighting, outdoor entertainment, glow-in-the-dark face painting, a luminous "Glow in the Dark" DJ party and a fiery musical performance by La Grand-Messe, with their repertoire of Cowboys Fringants hits.
Schedule
To make the most of the atmosphere and evening festivities, this year indoor exhibitors will be open from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday, while outdoor booths will be open until 9 p.m. or later. On Sunday, indoor and outdoor exhibitors will welcome visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
