In the spring of 2024, the Petit Brûlé ecological farm will open a new outlet for its fruits, vegetables, meats and other eco-responsible products in Vaudreuil-Dorion. The location is well known to lovers of fresh produce: the Daoust Fruits & Légumes market.

In April 2024, the Petit Brûlé ecological farm will lease the site to offer harvests from Petit Brûlé's vast gardens and 4-season greenhouses to local residents.

The perfect destination for eating local

"Those of you from the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region are already very familiar with Fruits & Légumes Daoust. For generations, the family-run store has offered an impressive variety of fruits, vegetables and local-flavored products. It's precisely this spirit of proximity and trust that we want to perpetuate by adding the harvests of our eco-responsible farm," explains David Théorêt, co-owner of the Petit Brûlé ecological farm.

Starting next season, various products from Petit Brûlé will be available at Fruits & Légumes Daoust: vegetables from the fields and from the first 4-season greenhouse entirely designed in Quebec, beef, pork, poultry, maple products, as well as dishes prepared using products from the farm.

With this brand-new market, local families will be able to enjoy a more direct link between the agricultural and urban worlds. Grown on the family farm in Rigaud, Petit Brûlé's fruits and vegetables will be freshly harvested before being transported by electric car to the Fruits & Légumes Daoust market.

A shared vision and values

"We could never have imagined a better alliance for a second Petit Brûlé market! Fruits & Légumes Daoust's family values of authenticity, sharing and inclusion are very much in line with those of our ecological farm. We're more than delighted with this news, which will enhance the local produce offering for families in Vaudreuil-Dorion," adds Marie-Pierre Gauthier, co-owner of Petit Brûlé.

In the interests of continuity for Fruits & Légumes Daoust customers, the emphasis on doing business with local producers will be maintained. Regular customers will still be able to find the products they love, while benefiting from an expanded offering thanks to the arrival of Petit Brûlé signature products such as fruits and vegetables, maple products, sustainably farmed meat and ready-to-eat meals.

New farm vegetable baskets available

The announcement of this new market coincides with the addition of 500 weekly Petit Brûlé vegetable baskets. Now prepared and delivered year-round, even in winter, farm baskets contain up to 17 varieties of vegetables grown at the Petit Brûlé facilities. These greenhouses are the first to mark the comeback of new-generation glass greenhouses designed in Quebec, and to minimize the use of hydrocarbons.

Subscribers to Le Petit Brûlé's Solo, Duo or Familial baskets can currently pick up their baskets weekly at the farm or at one of the pick-up points to be added to Fruits & Légumes Daoust in spring 2024. Of course, electric car delivery of weekly baskets is also offered free of charge in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges, Valleyfield and West Island regions.

Full details of prices, formats and areas covered are available on the Petit Brûlé website: https://petitbrule.ca/ nos-paniers.
