Bibliothèque Gaby-Farmer Denis : until December 30th
Gauvreau, Kourie, Marleau: from their hearts and from nature
Local artists Anncik Gauvreau, Johanne Kourie and Natacha Marleau gathered yesterday for a 5 à 7 vernissage of their new exhibition at the Bibliothèque Gaby-Farmer-Denis in Les Cèdres. The exhibition runs until December 30, during library opening hours.
Nature
The three artists had not given themselves a common subject for this show, other than the fact that they would be sharing their universes under the theme: "from our windows".
It's clear, however, that they all share a common sensibility: the love of nature and the need to be close to it and protect it.
Indeed, most of the paintings, montages and photographs gave pride of place to Mother Nature and her skies, places and ways.
Johanne
"I love clouds, gray skies", says Johanne Kourie, who was raised on the Plateau Mont-Royal and divides her time between Les Cèdres and Rimouski, where she and her partner have two homes and two artistic activities. She will be taking part in an exhibition in Paris in 2024.
Annick
Annick Gauvreau draws her inspiration from her inner self, letting herself be carried along by her intuitions and the wind of her fertile imagination. A transdisciplinary artist, in addition to painting, she creates 3D works from recycled objects. "My main inspiration is in my heart, I follow the thread", she confides.
Natacha
"I call myself a picker, I'm always available; in the car, I stop when I see a place that inspires me ». She adds, "The sky and its reflections fascinate me." Protecting the environment also appeals to her. She describes herself as a multidisciplinary artist at heart: "I love words and poetry". She also works in cultural mediation.
In short, take a look around and enjoy this intimate exhibition, not too far from the magnificent Chemin du Fleuve in Les Cèdres.
Follow the three artists on their Facebook pages: they have lots of projects to share.
Halloween story time with Annick
On Saturday, October 21 at 10 a.m., Annick Gauvreau will be dressed as RAG the Witch and will read a short story of her own to children aged 6 to 10.
Afterwards, she'll be in the showroom until noon to welcome visitors.
