Organic matter: small brown bin pickup in Vaudreuil-Dorion
Delivery of 240-litre wheeled bins for organic waste was completed last week for the entire residential sector of Vaudreuil-Dorion.
Citizens now have two options when it comes to the small 45-litre brown bins they have in their possession: keep them for another use, or dispose of them when the contractor appointed by the City makes a collection round, which will be carried out on a sector-by-sector basis. These small bins will no longer be accepted for municipal organics collection.
Collection schedule and instructions
The 45-litre bins will be collected by sector. If in doubt, citizens can use the Search by address tool on the city's website to confirm the sector in which their residence is located.
Bins must be empty and placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on the first day of collection, according to the following schedule:
Sector 3: Place bin at curbside on October 23 for collection by October 31;
Sector 2: Place bin at curbside on November 1 for pickup by November 7;
Sector 1: Place bin at curb on November 8 for pickup by November 16;
Sector 4: Place curbside bin on November 17 for pickup by November 22;
Sector 5: Place the bin at the curb on November 23 for pickup by November 24;
Please note that all bins collected by the contractor will be recycled.
Extra 240-liter brown bins?
Organic residue bins have been delivered by mistake to certain citizens who already had this type of bin in their possession.These extra bins will be collected by the contractor on the same schedule during the collection round. Simply position it upside down at the curb to clearly indicate that it is a take-back bin.
If you have any questions about smart collection, please visit the Town's website or contact the Environment Section at [email protected] or 450-455-3371, option 1.
