At the CACVS in Vaudreuil-Dorion
Marie-Ève Longtin's "En temps et lieux" exhibition opens today
The Conseil des arts et de la culture de Vaudreuil-Soulanges (CACVS) is pleased to present the exhibition En temps et lieux by Saint-Lazare artist Marie-Ève Longtin. The exhibition opens today and runs until January 18, 2024, on the CACVS premises at 280, boulevard Harwood in Vaudreuil-Dorion.
The exhibition En temps et lieux presents works of introspective reflection on the theme of healing. Using the symbols of the Canada goose and the monarch, the artist expresses how the support of her loved ones helped her to overcome the psychological distress she experienced during the pandemic.
Both her paintings and linocuts are based on photographs of geese taken in different places, at different times of the year. For her, each migration is a journey that marks the end of one cycle and the beginning of a new one.
Artistic interests and recognition
With graduate training in art therapy and a bachelor's degree in visual arts education, Marie-Eve is interested in human development and social relationships. She believes that visual art can significantly improve people's mental health and well-being. Her years of teaching and close contact with young people have always had an influence on her artistic work.
Even today, a maternal presence can be seen in her work. The artist recently took part in the group exhibition Puentes de Papel, which brought together five artists from Quebec and five from Mexico.
The exhibition, consisting mainly of prints, was shown in Mazatlan in 2020, in Mexico City in 2022 and at the Musée régional de Vaudreuil-Soulanges in 2022.
Over the course of her artistic career, Marie-Eve has won several awards and honors, including an honorable mention from the jury at the Salon des arts visuels de Brossard in 2015. She has also been a member of selection committees for various regional competitions and exhibitions.
Marie-Ève also founded the Atelier d'arts visuels Le Ciboulot.
