At 11:20 this morning, Sûreté du Québec patrol officers attempted to intercept a vehicle traveling at high speed on Avenue Saint-Charles, in Vaudreuil-Dorion. A pursuit was quickly initiated, but was called off shortly afterwards.

At the time of writing, the police operation is still underway, according to Sûreté du Québec spokeswoman Valérie Beauchamp.

"After calling off the pursuit, police located the vehicle in the parking lot of a motel on Boisvert Street in Vaudreuil-Dorion. The driver fled the scene and is being actively sought by police. Checks will be made to determine whether or not it is a stolen vehicle," she adds.

According to our information, the Sûreté du Québec's canine brigade is being called in to try to find the person behind the wheel of the white Jeep.
