Raising the intersection of Chemin du Fleuve and Chemin Saint-Féréol
Over $28,000 to improve road safety in Les Cèdres
Marilyne Picard, MNA for Soulanges, on behalf of Geneviève Guilbault, Deputy Premier and Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, announces $28,619 for the Municipality of Les Cèdres to invest in road safety improvement projects.
A total of $28,619 has been allocated to the locality to enable them to carry out their project to upgrade the intersection of Chemin du Fleuve and Chemin Saint-Féréol.
"This financial assistance will have a positive impact on the safety of road users in our region. I'm delighted with this financial support, which will certainly promote better road sharing and increase the safety of network users," says Ms. Picard.
The aim of these investments is to provide financial support for as many road safety initiatives and projects as possible. More specifically, the Road Safety Fund's financial assistance program aims to reduce the risk of death and injury for all road users, and to encourage awareness-raising, prevention, training and cooperation among all those involved in road safety and victim assistance. The government has made $14.5 million available across Quebec through this call for projects.

We all have a role to play in making our communities safe places to travel.I'm very happy to invest in the projects of our partners who share our vision of road safety," concludes Geneviève Guilbault, Deputy Premier and Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.
This advisory committee advises the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable annually on the use of funds credited to the Road Safety Fund.
It is made up of seven members representing the following organizations:Fédération des transporteurs par autobus; Fédération québécoise des municipalités; CAA Québec; Office des personnes handicapées du Québec; Union des municipalités du Québec; Ville de Québec; Association des directeurs généraux des municipalités du Québec. Ville de Montréal and Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec are observers.
These investments are made possible by the Programme d'aide financière du Fonds de la sécurité routière (PAFFSR), which is subsidized by the sums collected for offences detected by photo radar and red-light monitoring devices.
